Diane Burns is a pioneer in electronic publishing.
In 1984, she founded TransPacific
Digital (formerly TechArt International)
as one of the first Macintosh-based service bureaus in the United States,
which today is one of the foremost providers of foreign-language design,
production and project managment services for print, web and video.
Ms.
Burns has developed several national training programs for major corporations,
including those for the Aldus PageMaker Classroom, the Apple Training
Alliance, and Apple’s “Meet the Newton.” She is the
co-author or author of 10 books on publishing applications, including
the best-selling The Official QuarkXPress Handbook
and the award-winning
Designers on Mac (Graphis). Ms. Burns has been a contributor to many
national magazines, including PC Magazine and MacWorld, and today is
a regular contributor to InDesign Magazine.
Ms. Burns is an Adobe Certified Instructor and Community Expert. She
has provided template development, training and consulting services
in InDesign and InCopy for a variety of clients, including many national
magazines, advertising agencies and corporate communication departments.
She is a frequent speaker at conferences, and one of the organizers
of the annual InDesign/Creative Suite Conference in Tokyo.
